Individual Participants must be 16 years or older on or before December 31st 2018.

Online registration is mandatory. All participants pay the day before the race at the MANDATORY St. Barbara Golf & Beach Resort Athletes Registration, Start Number Pickup and Briefing from 4:00pm-6:00pm. This is the ONLY possibility to pick up your START NUMBERS. NO START NUMBER = NO RACE!!

Local individual participants earn points for the CTA ranking 2018 (highest ranked event, double points).
For local individual participants this race qualifies as The Curacao National Championship 2018.

To promote the participation of local Relay Teams from Curaçao, TEC has created the SPONSORED RELAY TEAM PROGRAM.

We have a list of participating Curaçao companies who are each ‘adopting’ 2 Relay Teams. These so called “SPONSORED Relay Teams” are competing in the ‘regular’ Relay Team category and they do not have to pay for their registration fees. The only requirement we have for Sponsored Relay Team applicants is that they have genuine difficulty with the $-amount they have to pay for registration. The participating Curaçao companies can create their own “Company” Relay Teams and/or ask organizer TEC to find teams for them.
To APPLY for the Sponsored Relay Team Program is very simple. When you register you just have to click the “Yes, we want to apply for the Sponsored Relay Team Program”- button. You will find this button in the Relay Team registration process.

Once a Sponsored Relay Team is registered, TEC will allocate this particular Sponsored Relay Team to the available open slots of participating Companies and then will be named after that company.

We are very very pleased with the support of the Dutch Army and the local Millicent. Without them we would not be able to organize an event like this at Curaçao.

Rules and Regulations

  • Drafting while biking is illegal (4 minute time penalty on first notice and immediate disqualification on second notice).
  • Bikes have to comply with ITU rules, disk wheels are allowed.
  • A proper bike helmet (properly fixed) is mandatory.
  • No nudity, torso should be covered during the bike and running part (penalty is immediate disqualification).
  • No headphones, earphones etc., for your safety and that of others (penalty is immediate disqualification)
  • Walk/Run over the red/orange timing mats, NO biking over the timing mats!
  • Return your timing chip at the finish line.
  • The medical staff and/or race director can take any athlete out of the race if, in their opinion, their is f.i. fraud, bad sportsmanship or a serious medical risk in continuing the race.
  • ITU/USAT rules allow wetsuits up until 79 degrees F (26C). Typical Curacao May water temperatures are around 80 degrees F. The swim is therefore declared a non-wetsuit swim.
  • DO NOT LITTER. Please drop your water bags, gels etc. in the garbage bins and designated area’s (penalty is immediate disqualification). Please respect this rule, since we want to come back next year.

Supporters are welcome in the start and finish area and at the beach (not at the bike and run course, except for residents and their guests).

Schedule of pre-Race Events

Exploration of the Biking Course: Friday May 4, 2018, 5:00-6:30 pm

The biking course is on the private road of the St. Barbara Plantation and at the restricted area of the Curaçao Mining Company. Because of the use of explosives and heavy trucks, this road is not open for public. An exception is made for participants for the Curaçao International Triathlon during the race and a guided training trip on the Friday before the race from 17:00 to 18:30. The start of this training will be exactly at 17:00 at the end of the parking place of the St. Barbara Beach & Golf Resort near Restaurant Boca 19.

Payments, Race-number PickUp and formal athlete’s Participation Registration+Waiver: Saturday May 5, 2018, 4:00-4:30 pm

All athletes pay their registration fee, pick-up their bib-numbers and sign the events’ waiver at the St. Barbara Beach & Golf Resort between 16:00 and 16:30. This is MANDATRORY. PAYMENTS CASH ONLY!

Startnumber pickup ALL participants: Saturday May 5, 2018, 4:00-5:30 pm

All athletes have to pick up their start number and timing chip at the St. Barbara Beach & Golf Resort between 16:00 and 17:30. NO START NUMBER = NO RACE.

Athlete briefing ALL participants (mandatory): Saturday May 5, 2018, 5:30-6:00 pm

It is mandatory to attend the Athlete Briefing from 17:30-18:00 at the St. Barbara Beach & Golf Resort Curaçao. You will get information on rules, exceptions, schedules, safety and the course.

Athlete Pasta Buffet & Dinner: Saturday May 5, 2018

During the briefing, athletes are invited to enjoy the Italian Pasta Buffet with 3 types of pasta, salade, water, juice and bread with seating at 8 persons round tables. Prices Naf 40 and USD 25, paid cash at registration, kids up to 14 half price.

Afterparty (starts during event): At the Event Transition Zone, at race day from 9:00am-12:00am, DJ, Sponsored by CocaCola, Puro, St. Barbara Resort – T3 Hangout

While the race is still going on, once the last cyclist has passed for the second time, a part of the Parking area will be transformed into early-morning Party Zone!

Tracks, Maps & Race Courses

The course is at the private property of St. Barbara Plantation, the Seru Boka Estate community, the St. Barbara Hotel Resort and the Curaçao Mining Company.

The private courses will only be open for participants of the KÄRCHER Curaçao International Triathlon, and only during the race and the scheduled bike course exploration the Friday before the race. Anybody training illegally on the course endangers the continuation of the event. Any participant caught illegally will be disqualified immediately, not allowed to start, expelled from this race and future races, with no money refund. The ONLY people allowed at the course are organizers and people designated by the organizers.

No supporters are allowed on the bike course other than the resort’s ‘public’ roads (for safety reasons).

Start, finish and transition area are at the parking place of Santa Barbara Golf & Beach Resort at the St. Barbara Plantation near the dive shop. The swim course starts just outside of the dock, in front of Boka 19 restaurant, in southern direction, for two laps around the floating dock of St. Barbara Beach. Keep the dock at your left hand side at all times. There will be a water start at the outer side of the dock. After the second lap, leave the water after the buoy, towards the beach, close to Boka 19 restaurant. You will find directions to get you from the beach to the T-zone.



The running course is a challenge! Hilly and hot. There are three water/aid stations on the running course and a medical checkpoint.

There is water and sports drinks at the aid stations. Drink ca. one liter per hour to prevent de- hydration. Use cold water to cool your body and wear a cap to prevent heatstroke.

Any athlete not feeling well should report at the aid stations, the medical checkpoint, or at the medical tent in the start and finish area.



The biking course will only be open for participants of the DASIA Curaçao International Triathlon during the race and the course exploration on the Friday before the race. No supporters are allowed on the bike course for safety reasons.

Usually heavy traffic is using the road and therefore biking on this road is dangerous. It is not a public road. Please respect these rules! Anybody training on this road will be disqualified and endangers the future of the DASIA Curaçao International Triathlon.

TEC Competition Disclaimer

Upon registration for the Competition, the Participant acknowledges the rules and the disclaimer. During the online registration process, and at the participants physical sign up and pre-competition registration, which is -in most cases- the day before the event, you have to accept and sign this disclaimer in order to be able to participate at the event.

The online registrant/ competition participant, hereby declares that he/she has read and understood the stipulations mentioned below and agrees to the contents thereof, which is a condition for participating in the Competition.

The Participant indemnifies TEC Team Endurance Curacao, the competition organizers, the sponsors, volunteers and all the assistants of the organization of the Competition (the “Organization”), against any liability for any risk related to his/her participation in any discipline of the Competition and any pre- and post race related activity.

The Participant is at all times responsible for his/her fitness – including but not limited to physical fitness – and for the continuation of his/her participation. Under no circumstance will the Organization bear any liability for any possible unfitness occurring during or after the Competition or unfitness appearing in retrospect.

The Participant declares to be enjoying good health and is able to participate in the Competition without any health risk. The Organization advises every participant to undergo a sports medical examination prior to the Competition. In the event of any doubt regarding his/her health, the Participant is obliged to undergo a check-up by his/her  physician prior to the Competition in order to establish whether participation is safe.

Wearing a reliable bicycle helmet is mandatory when cycling. This means that, without a reliable bicycle helmet, it is not permitted to participate in the bicycle discipline.

The Participant is familiar with the track and will observe the competition rules as set by the Organization and has to comply promptly, at all times, with the instructions of the Organization.

The Participant is responsible for his/her own equipment. Under no circumstance will the Organization be liable for any loss, damage and/or theft of equipment, such as bicycle, clothes, etc.

Personal attendance at the pre-race briefing is mandatory for all Participants as well as the compliance with the instructions given by the Organization, at the pre-race briefing, prior to the race, at the final race briefing, and accordingly indicated organization personnel.

The Participant can withdraw from further participation in the Competition at his/her own discretion, at any time for any reason (e.g. changing weather conditions, physical and/or other complaints, unfitness of equipment), before or during the Competition.

If the Participant withdraws from the race he or she has the obligation to notify the Organization or to have someone notify The Organization on his or her’s behalf.

Withdrawal from the Competition before or during the Competition does not entitle the Participant to refunding of the registration fee. The Organization may in its sole discretion, delay, modify, or cancel the Event.  If the event is delayed, modified, or cancelled for any reason, including but not limited to weather conditions, safety issues, organizational issues, directives issued by authorities, event sponsors, event facilitators such as Red Cross, Police, Santa Barbara Hotel, Resort, Plantage, Seru Boka Neighborhood and or Mining Company, there shall be no refund of registration fee or any refund whatsoever.

For minors (under 18), a parent or guardian must sign this disclaimer in order to be able to participate in the Competition.

Curaçao law applies applies to all legal matters concerning the Competition, the Organization and the involvement of Participant in the Competition.
